MAINTENANCE MONDAY: COLOR CODED DASH INDICATOR LIGHTS

Dashboard lights are designed to warn you before something becomes expensive. The problem? Most drivers don’t know which ones matter and which ones can wait.

Here’s a simple breakdown:

🔴 Red Lights = Stop ASAP

  • Oil pressure

  • Brake system

  • Engine temperature

  • Battery/charging system

👉 These mean immediate attention. Driving further risks major damage.

🟡 Yellow/Amber Lights = Schedule Service Soon

  • Check engine light

  • ABS

  • Tire pressure (TPMS)

  • Traction control

👉 Safe to drive short-term, but ignoring them leads to bigger repairs.

🔵 Blue/Green Lights = Information Only

  • High beams

  • Cruise control

  • Turn signals

👉 Nothing to worry about.

Fleet Manager Tip:

If multiple vehicles show the same warning light, it’s often a maintenance pattern, not coincidence. Addressing it early reduces downtime across the fleet.
